- Logan started popping through his top 2 front teeth on Sunday, August 14, and by the middle of the week we discovered he was actually popping through 4 front top teeth all at once!
- Logan now crawls, forwards & backwards to get what he wants. He is also working on pulling himself up on everything!
- Logan loves to babble, play & eat. He picks his food up all by himself & has for about 2 months
- Logan can finally hold his own bottle all by himself (he learned this past week) and now goes to bed with his bottle
- If you catch Logan doing something naughty & say “LOGAN” he will turn to you & start laughing every time! (Hopefully this one doesn’t last!)
- Logan will actually wake up & play in his crib for a while before crying to be taken out! :) Mommy really likes this!
- Alexa can not only say & indentify all the numbers (at least 1-20) & alphabet but she’s learning to sound out her letters & can identify certain words
- Alexa’s favorite thing to do is ride her bike (she received it from us for her birthday) and is getting really good at it
- Alexa is learning to stay dry at nap time & bed time, although we can’t make it through the night dry most nights

Trip to visit Raelyn & Great-Grandma
We have been hoping to visit Micah’s newest cousin, Raelyn, who was born to his Uncle Rick & Aunt Jill at only 27 1/2 weeks but due to colds and other issues we never made it up to the NICU to see her. Now that she was able to come home a few weeks ago and we are all finally completely healthy we finally found an open day to go visit her! She is certainly adorable & growing stronger every day. Since we were already on the road & we finally had an open morning we were also able to go visit Great-Grandma Schouten at the nursing home in Hawarden. (She had a massive heart attack & is recovering at the nursing home until she’s strong enough to return to her apartment.) We managed to snap a few pictures while we were there & even one of Alexa pretending to sleep on the way home. :)
Trip to Wisconsin with the cousins
Alexa, Logan & I rode along with Aunt Sarah, Kinzie, Faith & Luke to Wisconsin to see Aunt Anne, Uncle Scott, Hannah, Mary & Jacob. It was a really quick trip, one day up, one day there, and one day back. Despite the short time we found time to go to the beach, take some “formal” pictures with all the cousins together, go out for ice cream, and talk a walk along the water! By the time we headed home everyone was ready to sleep in the car, well except for Luke & Logan! :)
Random July Pictures
Alexa & Logan building (with my help) :) a tower - this is one of our DAILY things we do for fun!
Spending time at Micah’s last regular season softball game (they didn’t fair as well this year being in the A league)
Spending time with the Schouten family and enjoying hugs from Cousin Sophia
Friends from Lethbridge visiting :)
RYS convention was held at Dordt this year & that meant that some of my mom’s dear friends were able to come out & visit with her (& us)! :) We had a great time having coffee each day, playing with the boys (whose parents were RYS sponsors) and just spending time together!
