Hanging out with Papa
Thanksgiving Christmas in November…
My sister Anne & her husband Scott & their 3 kids came out for Thanksgiving and decided that since they wouldn’t be out for Christmas we’d celebrate Christmas with my mom and my sister Sarah and her family on the Friday after Thanksgiving instead. So we had the kids exchange names and decided the adults would skip gifts and go out to eat without the kids for a nice supper instead.
November
Almost up to date - - here’s a few pictures to recap the month of November for our family:
We finally got the kids a set of bunk beds for Alexa’s room so that eventually they could share a room and the baby could have the nursery (Logan’s current room). Here’s a shot before we had Alexa’s top bunk mattress put in. It only took a few nights of them sleeping in there to actually figure out how to SLEEP in the same room! I’ve had to give up my sleeping in habits as they both tend to be awake and waking me up between 7 and 7:30 most mornings but it’s a small price to pay (I’m told) in the grand scheme of things! Maybe someday they’ll go back to sleeping in until 9am…at least I can dream right? :) Part of the “problem” is that Logan sleeps dry and therefore wakes up between 6:30 & 7:30 almost every morning telling us he has to go potty.
And here’s a few shots of the kids enjoying them once her mattress is in:
Our first (and so far only) Snow Day this winter!
Logan turned 2! ~ October 21, 2012
Its hard to believe but our little guy has turned 2 years old! It hardly seems like yesterday we were able to take him home from the hospital and he was so tiny in our arms. Although he went through a phase or two of being a little chunk and he’s always topped the charts with his head size, he’s actually back to being a little peanut again!
His stats from his 2 year check up were: 96% for his head size, 75% for his height, and only 7% for his weight! That’s right the little guy has only gained 3lbs in the last year and none in the last 6 months! And yes he eats and eats…he apparently has his dad’s metabolism though and he’s certainly an active little guy - hardly pausing throughout the day!
He, unlike his sister, has chosen to cut his naps short - less than 2 hrs each day! He’s talking up a storm now, repeating pretty much anything he hears. His favorite things are still tractors and papa’s moos (cows) :) and any kind of car or truck.
His biggest accomplishment would be that he is potty trained! Yep that’s right! - He even sleeps dry every nap time and almost every night! (A feat his sister has yet to master!)
October ~ After the wedding
Alexa & Eli all dressed up:
Alexa’s very good friend Eli (the son of one of her former babysitters) had been in 2 of his uncles’ weddings earlier this year and had a tuxedo that he had as a result of those weddings. Since Alexa had her miniature bride dress (which my mom actually made for her with a tiny bit of help from me) we thought it would be cute to get a picture of them together the Sunday after the wedding. Here’s a couple shots from that:
Here’s a shot of the lovely bride (Aunt Kiley) and the miniature bride (Alexa):
October - Getting ready & the wedding
It was an honor to be able to stand up for Kiley & Sean & our whole family had a great time participating in the wedding. Alexa was the miniature bride (she was COMPLETELY THRILLED by this) and Logan was a bell ringer, while Micah was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid. So as you can imagine it made for a fun but busy weekend! We loved every minute of it (well except if ask Alexa she didn’t love having to leave at the end!)
