Friends from Lethbridge visiting :)

RYS convention was held at Dordt this year & that meant that some of my mom’s dear friends were able to come out & visit with her (& us)! :) We had a great time having coffee each day, playing with the boys (whose parents were RYS sponsors) and just spending time together!

Summer Reading program fun-day

The local library had a summer reading program & my mom had taken Sarah’s kids to turn in their reading sheets each week so they had “money” to spend at the end of the program’s fun-day event. It was in the middle of the Center Mall so Sarah asked if Alexa & Logan & I would come along. The kids had a blast getting their faces painted & playing in the bouncy castle.

Alexa’s first sleepover…

Alexa constantly asks for someone to sleep with her, whether it be Daddy, Mommy, or Patches (the dog). So since my niece Kinzie has had a few sleepovers that have made her sister Faith a bit on the sad side we decided to have Faith come over for a sleepover. The girls had a great time & actually went to bed fairly easily! :)

My Baby Boy…not so little anymore!

Logan turned 9 months on July 21st and I snapped a few pictures of him playing:

Fun facts about Logan at 9 months:

He weighs 18 lbs & 8 oz, only gaining just under a pound from his 6 month checkup!
He has 2 teeth on the bottom of his mouth
He can roll & thinks whenever his diaper is off is the best time to do so!
He is incredibly happy -- and LOVES to laugh all the time
He can only “crawl” by doing push-ups backwards across the floor
He enjoys stinking EVERYTHING in his mouth, especially his sister’s toys

Going to see the “Cartoon Man” :)

Dan Wardell from Iowa Public TV was at the Sioux Center library in July & my mom took my nieces & nephew so Alexa & Logan & I thought we’d come along too (since she LOVES watching PBS every morning!). Here are a few of the pictures from the event:

How the years go by & things have changed…

We spent the second week of July on vacation at Lake Pahoja. I’d only been there once before and that was back in 2005 when Micah’s Aunt & Uncle were camping there so his family had gone up there to fish & hang out with them. Micah & I drove up with my parents & my niece Mackinzie. Here’s a few pictures from back then:

and here’s a picture of Micah with Alexa on his shoulders taken last week:

CIMG0449Some things have definitely changed…our appearance, our size, the fact that its our daughter on him instead of our niece(who is 8 already!), that Coby(pictured in the top, left photo with Kinzie on her lap) is now married, living in California and expecting her first child, that my Dad is no longer with us, that it was Micah’s family driving up to visit US instead of the other way around, and so many other things, but its nice to know that there are some things in our lives that never change! For example: the hats Micah wears, the clothes he wears (he still wears both the shirt & jeans from the above pictures), and more importantly - that we have an amazing Lord and Savior and that we have family & friends surrounding us!
