October ~ Rehearsal

We had a lot of fun getting ready for the wedding and that included the rehearsal. Alexa had a bit of a tearful moment not wanting Mom & Dad to go down the aisle before her but thankfully Uncle Eric was there to holder he hand, and once her cousin Sophia agreed to help her pull the wagon down the aisle she was as happy as could be. Here’s a few shots of the rehearsal (courtesy of my sister-in-laws as I completely forgot to photograph almost everything the week of the wedding!)

October ~ Setting up for the wedding

We spent a couple hours setting up the church for the ceremony and the campus center area at Dordt for the reception during the week. Here’s a few highlight pictures! :)

October ~ Pumpkinland with the Schouten Family

During what I refer to as “wedding week” (the week of Kiley & Sean’s wedding) we spent some quality time with the family, including Coby & Koen who arrived at the beginning of the week and Sean who arrived the weekend before the wedding. We had a lot of fun getting things ready for the wedding but we managed to have fun relaxing and taking a trip to Pumpkinland too!

August & September

So I was pretty non-existent in August & even September…but I promise I had a good reason! I spent the beginning of the month attending my 10-year class reunion, working like mad in our house to get things cleaned & organized, and by the middle of the month I pretty much spent every day hugging my couch, trying not to get out of bed, and generally just hiding from people so they wouldn’t realize I was throwing up all the time. Here’s a few pictures of the kids, along with an explanation of why I wasn’t a functioning member of society for those 6-8 weeks!

Alexa begged to have her hair (which was finally getting longer) in french braids so she could wear it curly for church the next morning.

Micah & I both celebrated our 29th birthday’s in September…mine happened to be my golden birthday, but I wasn’t in much of a condition to celebrate! :)

Kiley had a “program assembly” party and she graciously moved it to my house while I wasn’t feeling great and so the kids could be in bed despite Micah working in the field for harvest.

And here’s the reason I wasn’t feeling so well for the majority of the month of August & all of September:
